A Message from the Rector: A new call for Luke Zerra

Dear Friends:

It is bittersweet to share the news with you that the Rev. Luke Zerra has accepted a call to serve as the Assistant Rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Highland Park. He has just begun this work on a part time basis. The result of this new call is that Luke will be concluding his work as the Youth Minister of St. Paul’s at the end of the summer.

When we hired Luke, he made a two-year commitment to this work. During that time we have seen him ordained as a Deacon and a Priest. We have also seen our youth ministries continue to thrive, even during a pandemic. Our youth have also grown in their faith, community and have served the wider community in so many amazing ways through outreach projects and especially Pittsburgh Service Week. I am deeply grateful for all the ways we have seen Luke and our youth grow over these last years.

We have already begun the work of hiring a new Youth Minister for our parish, and I am hopeful that we will be able to announce that soon.

We will have an opportunity to thank Luke for his work later this summer, and wish him well in his new call.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Peace, Noah

The Reverend Noah H. Evans, Rector

Friends,
It has been an honor to serve as St. Paul’s Youth Minister for the past two years. I am grateful for the privilege to be a part of your lives, to watch you grow in faith, and to serve Christ alongside you. My departure from St. Paul’s to serve as St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Highland Park thus comes with a heart that is heavy, but deeply grateful for every one of you. Working alongside you on service projects, exploring scripture together, hearing your dreams for the future, and even just playing games together are all ways you have shared with me the joy that Christ gives. I am continually impressed by the youth of St. Paul's, especially your openness to Christian service and your willingness to grow deeper in your knowledge of Christ. I am thankful that God has brought me to St. Paul’s for a season to be a companion alongside you in our shared journey to know and love and God these past two years. Although my season with you is coming to an end, know that God loves each of you and that I will always value you, the time we shared, and the lessons you taught me. You are always in my prayers.

In Christ,

Luke

The Reverend Luke Zerra, Youth Minister

Give Now Pledge Food Pantry Endowment Fund Amazon Smile

Why Give? God asks us to share our time, talent and treasure. A life of generosity is at the root of Christianity. We encourage you to think about what a meaningful gift would be for you.

When you give to St. Paul's you help fund our ministry in the community, our worship, and the staff that supports our community as we strive to be God's hands and feet in the world.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

Give Now

Each year, St. Paul’s asks parishioners to say how much they are going to give the parish over the next year. This is called a pledge. Some parishioners set up a recurring gift online -- this counts as a pledge too! St. Paul’s relies on parishioners to make a pledge or a recurring gift so that we can keep the lights on, celebrate the Eucharist, work with our community partners, pay staff, and run all the programming that the parish depends on. Your pledge or recurring gift keeps St. Paul’s running.
