Faith in a New Era: Journey With the Acts of the Apostles in Easter

Dear Friends,

The Book The Acts of the Apostles tells the story of the early days of Christian church, as the early believers to figure out how to be the church, especially in strange and new contexts. It is an action-packed and exciting story that involves struggle, shipwrecks, and the amazing story of the people of God discovering the power of God behind them to share the story of Jesus Christ across the globe.

.

In this unsettling time of trying to figure out how to be the church when we are not able to gather together in person, I thought it might be an apt time to read this book together. We will start the day after Easter Sunday, and finish at Pentecost - a total of 50 days. Many in our parish have found daily reading of the bible, through the Good Book Club, or with our Lenten Devotional, both enriching and grounding. If you have not yet explored this practice, we invite you to join us now.

.

Below, you can find a link to a reading schedule, with the reading for each day during this journey. Also, I recommend, A Journey through Acts: The 50 Day Bible Challenge, published by Forward Movement (available on Amazon or other booksellers in kindle and paper format). See the link here to purchase a physical copy. A link to the kindle format is here. Which has each days readings and short reflections on the text.

.

There will be a series of reflection groups. Some are listed below and more will be added in the days to come. They will meet on Zoom initially, and I hope later in person. If you would like to form another group, please let me know.

.

Know that you continue to be in my prayers, and please pray for the staff and leadership of the parish and for me during this time.

.
Peace,

.

Give Now Pledge Food Pantry Endowment Fund Amazon Smile

Why Give? God asks us to share our time, talent and treasure. A life of generosity is at the root of Christianity. We encourage you to think about what a meaningful gift would be for you.

When you give to St. Paul's you help fund our ministry in the community, our worship, and the staff that supports our community as we strive to be God's hands and feet in the world.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

Give Now

Each year, St. Paul’s asks parishioners to say how much they are going to give the parish over the next year. This is called a pledge. Some parishioners set up a recurring gift online -- this counts as a pledge too! St. Paul’s relies on parishioners to make a pledge or a recurring gift so that we can keep the lights on, celebrate the Eucharist, work with our community partners, pay staff, and run all the programming that the parish depends on. Your pledge or recurring gift keeps St. Paul’s running.

The St. Paul's Endowment Fund is the cornerstone of a long-range program to provide future financial stability for the parish. It is created through bequests of money and property. Once, invested, the bequests provide income for the special needs of the parish and designated programs.
