St. Paul's Small Groups: Good Book Club
In the Bible, the book of Exodus follows the story of how the Israelites are freed from slavery by God. It is full of stories of the ways in which God meets us in the wilderness and provides for us in ways we least expect it. These themes are as relevant as ever as we face a future full of uncertainty, so please join us in reading the book together as a parish in the New Year!
Beginning January 6, St. Paul’s will be joining churches across the country in reading a portion of the book of Exodus each day, January 6-Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday, March 1) as part of the Good Book Club. There is a daily reading schedule that can be found here. You can read along on your own or join one of our Small Groups.
I love the book of Exodus because it is full of wonderful stories that illustrate the twists and turns that we face in the life of faith. We will read about Moses, from the time he is abandoned and then rescued in a river, to his rise to leadership, his encounter with the burning bush, and his encounter with the Ten Commandments. The stories in this book are so rich!
Join me in beginning the new year in reading and reflecting on the ways God provides for us in the wilderness.
