Nursery School

The mission of St. Paul's Episcopal Nursery School is to provide a play-based early childhood program that utilizes best practices while nurturing the uniqueness of each child.

For over 60 years, St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School has served the children of our community as a warm and enriching place to play, learn, grow and discover. Our preschool curriculum encourages age-appropriate independence and self-regulation; our educators strive to help children comfortably persist with new challenges and activities within the framework of a consistent daily schedule.

St. Paul’s places primary importance on creating opportunities for children to learn by engaging with the world around them through literature, developmentally appropriate math and science activities, music, art, movement, creative problem solving, and through all forms of play. The school is a member of The National Association of Episcopal Schools.

The nursery school values:

  • We provide an excellent early childhood program based on current knowledge of child development
  • We acknowledge and nurture the uniqueness of each child
  • We develop a community of learners based on the belief that each child, parent, and staff member has the potential for infinite growth and change
  • We create relationships of mutual respect and trust among parents, staff, and children

Director, St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School
    (412)531-7153x31 |

Christine joined St. Paul’s Nursery School as Director of the program in June 2022. She is a Pittsburgh native who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Logistics from Penn State University. After working for 12 years in business and having three daughters, she began volunteering and teaching in early childhood education. It was then that she realized her passion for working with young children.

For the last eight years, Christine has taught preschool and kindergarten children. She believes that all children have the right to play, imagine, and learn in an environment full of diverse materials with educators who believe in their competency, capability, and potential. Helping children recognize their strengths and develop confidence in themselves brings her joy.

When not at work, Christine enjoys spending time with her partner and their children, cooking, hiking, biking, and traveling.

Give Now Pledge Food Pantry Endowment Fund Amazon Smile

Why Give? God asks us to share our time, talent and treasure. A life of generosity is at the root of Christianity. We encourage you to think about what a meaningful gift would be for you.

When you give to St. Paul's you help fund our ministry in the community, our worship, and the staff that supports our community as we strive to be God's hands and feet in the world.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

    Give Now

Each year, St. Paul’s asks parishioners to say how much they are going to give the parish over the next year. This is called a pledge. Some parishioners set up a recurring gift online -- this counts as a pledge too! St. Paul’s relies on parishioners to make a pledge or a recurring gift so that we can keep the lights on, celebrate the Eucharist, work with our community partners, pay staff, and run all the programming that the parish depends on. Your pledge or recurring gift keeps St. Paul’s running.

    Food Pantry

The St. Paul's Endowment Fund is the cornerstone of a long-range program to provide future financial stability for the parish. It is created through bequests of money and property. Once, invested, the bequests provide income for the special needs of the parish and designated programs.
